CAN YOU SWIM IN BUCKMUNDI SHIRTS?
Our shirts are mainly used for every day wear above water, however yes you can swim in them just not in chlorine as it will fade the inks. Be aware that wet fabric can reduce UPF ratings so remember to always slip slop slap as well.
WHAT IS THE SUN PROTECTION RATING?
UPF 50plus
ARE BUCKMUNDI SHIRTS HOT?
No Buckmundi shirts are not hot. Remembering a long sleeve in any garment is going to be warmer then a singlet. A lot of our shirts are purchased by return customers who used to not wear “fishing shirts” because they are usually too hot.
Buckmundi shirts are made from 100% moisture wicking microfibre mesh, yes this is a polyester; however it is in the quality of fabric and its weave that determines if this technology does as the name suggests, which is drawing the moisture away from your skin then allowing the air to still pass through to generate the cooling effect that it should. Not to trap heat. We have tested them in 40+ degree humid Kimberley and dry Perth summer heat against cotton button up work shirts and fishing shirts bought else where. People tend to get irritable when they are hot without knowing but our shirts definitely breath better and you don't notice them on as much as you do others. Test it out for yourself.
WHY DON'T WE DISPLAY THE AUSSIE MADE LOGO?
Buckmundi is 100% owned, operated, designed and made in Australia and our manufacturer holds the logo. At this early stage of our business it is another expense and we need the numbers to justify the outlay.
IS OUR FABRIC MADE IN AUSTRALIA?
We love this question as it brings the attention to why we push for Australian made and where Australian manufacturing can still grow.
Australia does not manufacture ultra light microfibre mesh, therefore it has to be sourced from overseas where they specialise in the best quality. We have contacted places all over the country, but as yet it's not possible.
Having garments made here is the first step and like many Aussie's we are hoping in time it will be made in Australia also.
ARE WE GOING TO MAKE CAPS?
We would love to have our own caps, however there is not a manufacturer in Australia that makes the actual cap, so until then we will have to hold out. There's an idea for an entrepreneur out there :).
WHY THE DEER FOR THE BUCKMUNDI LOGO?
I drew our logo in 2019 to put on the back of our caravan before we set off. Box loves the deer for its meat and I love the beauty of it’s antlers as they have a filigree effect. The stag is also a part of our family crest. Swirls on one side and straight edges on the other represent the masculine and feminine side/ or the ying and yang of co-existing together.
DO WE DO GIFT CARDS?
We do not currently offer this service, however will be something we look into in the future.
HOW OFTEN DO WE GET MORE STOCK?
We order based on demand and what we currently have in stock. If there is a design that you want and it isn't currently available in stock get in contact so we can let you know when we next expect to do a manufacturing run. ​
We have a pre-order page where we will advertise which designs are next due to be ordered so you can add you order to it and not miss out.
WHY DO WE ONLY USE EXPRESS POST?
All of our shirts are sent express via Australia Post so they can be tracked and get to you ASAP with the best assurance that it won't get lost in the mail. Please note although they are being sent by express post this does not guarantee you will receive it in the 2-3 business day timeframe that is indicated by Australia Post as they have been experiencing delays with the influx of postage demands. We have done the calculations of sending shirts by both normal and express and there is only approximately $1 difference. Express is still the most reliable and timely method there is. Please refer to store policies for more information.
WHAT IS BUCKMUNDI SIZING LIKE?
We use Australian sizing so there may be differences to ones purchased elsewhere. In some cases the size you usually get may be roomier then you are used to so to get it right from the start we ask that you take the time and measure up against our size charts. *If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose the larger size to be safe.
DO WE DO CUSTOM MADE?
No. As we pay Australian pricing and our manufacturer has minimum order requirements it is not financially viable for us at this time. Maybe in the future, you never know. :)
